OK, I finally took the lemon cheesecake cookie recipe I was planning to bake for Connor’s teachers out for a spin, and you’re probably gonna laugh because I do things like “baking test runs,” but I do them because…I’m me! 🙂 I just needed/wanted to do a test batch before doing the actual batch to give to the teachers. (I know. And LOL!) I’m actually glad I did it because I figured out a few things in the process. One, I bought the wrong flour and didn’t realize it until I started measuring out the ingredients. DOH! I was supposed...

Today I wore this summery look to run a couple errands and drop off Coywolf at her first day of summer fun/school. I used lots of Chanel, with a mix of new and old faves, because I love the way they handle color. They use juuuust enough, so you don’t go from zero to rodeo clown in a hummingbird heartbeat. Swatches and details on the key products down below. Key items Base: All I’m wearing is a 50/50 mix of It Cosmetics CC+ Illumination and Oil-Free Matte Tinted Moisturizers (the shade I wear is Tan), which I applied with my...

Fibonacci Florescentiaby David A. ReimanThis work is an abstract representation of a botanical specimen based on a fractal Fibonacci spiral. Individual flowers grow from the bifurcation points and bend toward the smaller fractal component. Flowers are colored depending on the growing angle. Every flower lies along a larger virtual spiral path of similarly colored and bending flowers. The work is made entirely from circular arcs and filled circles.Via The Guardian: Bridges 2015: a meeting of maths and art - in picturesConference site: Bridges Baltimore 2015

I recognize that I talk a lot lately about Smith & Cult, but I have reasons! They last, and they’re super saturated, and they also have lots of colors I don’t see anyplace else, like grayish green Bitter Buddhist, an oldie but a goodie that still knocks the cat lady socks off my feet. Problem is…Smith & Cult is well aware of their fabulousness, and...

With the whole Fenty effect and the general expansion of available foundations shades happening all over the place, you’d think that finding an exact foundation match would be more commonplace, right? But I’ve still yet to experience it. Right now the closest I can get is the Honey Bronze shade in the various Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation formulas, but it’s still not an exact, dead-on match for my skin. It leans sliiiightly warm. Really darn close, though. I also get close with Fenty 310 (but it’s also a little warm). I’m guessing that most people aren’t able to find...
